Like many, I started my model rocket hobby as a kid, with an Estes starter kit. I don’t even remember the name now, but it was easy to assemble, and came with a relatively low powered rocket motors. Over the years, I built more advanced models, and then eventually went on to RC planes.
Now, with sons of my own, we are exploring the model rocketry hobby once again, and it’s brought back the joy of watching something you built soar far into the atmosphere.
How did you get started in this hobby? Leave a comment and let us know!

I’ve been a rocket addict for 11 years. My wife even does it with me. We are into building our own rockets, and have even had a successful three-stage launch.

This site is nice little resource on a very cool hobby. I love the anticipation during the countdown and then boom, the rocket escapes the bonds of gravity and soars to the heavens. Freedom!
