I ran across a model rocket repair kit that looks like a great thing to take to the field.  It includes:

Shock cord mounts
Tape rings
Safety key
Recovery wadding
12″ (30 cm)assembled parachute
Launch lugs
Shock cords
Launch rod safety cap.

Model Rocketry fans should take a quick look at the new FAA regulations regarding model rocketry. These go into effect on February 2, 2009. Included in the regulations are the warning that all amateur rockets must be “unmanned” so remember to stay out of your rockets.
