It’s always fun to experience the joy of children during a model rocket launch. Here’s a cute video I found of some Cub Scouts during a model rocket party.
This video shows setting up for a model rocket building project.
I ran across a model rocket repair kit that looks like a great thing to take to the field. It includes:
Shock cord mounts
Tape rings
Safety key
Recovery wadding
12″ (30 cm)assembled parachute
Launch lugs
Shock cords
Launch rod safety cap.
A great addition to anyone’s fild kit. You can get it here:

Model Rocketry fans should take a quick look at the new FAA regulations regarding model rocketry. These go into effect on February 2, 2009. Included in the regulations are the warning that all amateur rockets must be “unmanned” so remember to stay out of your rockets.
Read full FAA regulations here.
Thanks to Model Rocketry blog for this.
Here’s a good article on how to mount a video camera to your model rocket. This is a fascinating niche within model rocketry, combining aerodynamics, electrical and mechanical engineering, and good old fashioned ingenuity. Model Rocket video mounting article.
